Hi, I'm Cresendex, I make video essays about a bunch of topics, things like Video Games, Phobias, Philosophy and some other things.
After a World Dies
Probably my favorite video I've done so far, one that's very personal to me, all about death, Minecraft, and Outer Wilds. Hope you enjoy because I certainly enjoyed making it. I was in an emotional rollercoaster playing Outer Wilds and 2b2t was a really fun topic to discuss because I'd been wanting to talk about it for a while now.
Anyhow

Liminal spaces - The Fear of Forgetting

Hello again, It's been quite a while, as you can see this video is much longer than usual. You also may have noticed I've already made a video on liminal spaces in the past. But that video is old and outdated, the truth is I had a LOT more to say on the matter and wanted to reimagine that video since I love the concept of Liminal Spaces. Which is why this video is so long, but man making this v...

Fun Fact, this video was initially supposed to be “Games with Infinite Worlds” but I thought this idea up 1000 words into the script, which is why it until that point it kind of sounded like I was only gonna talk about games lol. Anyhow, this video was a passion project for me, and I spent countless full days perfecting the script and the editing which was hopefully worth it. Music used in orde...

Hey a fellow KRB fan
This video always makes me very emotional.
Didn't expect to see a mention of captain krb here! been watching their channel since the early days :)
A really good anime about a journey through a dead world is one called Girls Last Tour.
This...this is exceptional
Why i dont fear space: im made of the same atoms that formed at the start of the universe, and if the universe is endless, if it never started and will never end. Im atleast made of the same atoms that build up the black holes.
Very good story telling 👍👍👍👍
Minecraft is really sad to think about. Across Bedrock/Java, I have 3,000(ish) hours, but I only have 1-2 worlds at any given time (1-2 each). That said, I think there's beauty in realizing that all things end; that no world is forever. Because my worlds are all deleted/given expiration dates, they're more special to me.
Awesome video, your chanel is so underrated. I really enjoyed the game SOMA, that focuses on how people want to desperatly leave something behind.
There have been 2 games in my life that have taught me to accept death for what it is - Outer wilds and Rain world They served to reassure me that there is nothing wrong with it, it is all natural and there is nothing to be afraid of
No, we can't accept the end. You're right eventually we'll all die, the earth will die, the universe will die, but right now humanity is dying, no humanity is being killed. Climate change is killing the planet and we can do something about it, we can stop it. We can't accept the end as inevitable because it's not, we can save the world. Climate change isn't the unescapable end like entropy is, it's a process controlled and made worse by people, so we shouldn't accept the end, we should fight for our future.
Man your videos bring me nothing but joy. I praise every upload from you I receive. Thank you
9:31 You are COMPLETELY wrong. You can disprove it and it's not even difficult. Such a giant creature would not only be unable to remain undetected in modern times but also would not be able to survive in the deep sea.
But with all these stories and the deep sea being so vast, it isn’t a stretch to say it could exist. And if the kraken is hiding in our depths, what about other things? What about the megalodon, creatures so elusive that we’ve never even spotted them, I mean, we find new things in the deep sea all the time, like this little shark that’s spent millions of years evolving for deep sea living, so who’s to say a 10 ton coastal macropredator that prefers tropical high water temperatures isn’t hiding down there two?
@@SherlandShrouht-esse Do you even know anything about the deep sea? The megalodon isn't living in the deep sea. There's not enough food for it and it wasn't adapted to the conditions down there. If it was still alive, we would've known by now *because it wouldn't be living in the deep sea* where it wouldn't be able to survive.
@@SherlandShrouht-esse Wrong. The megalodon is extinct and was not adapted to surviving in a harsh environment like the deep sea. There isn't even enough food for it down there and it's too cold (you even mentioned that it lived in WARM waters).
@@SherlandShrouht-esse You're just completely wrong.
The deep sea is too cold for a megalodon and doesn't have nearly enough food for it. Considering that we can find small fish on sonar, we would've found the megalodon by now if it wasn't extinct.
"You can only die, because you were lucky enough to live". Thank you for that line Cresendex.
Wow, this is one of the most beautiful videos I've watched, I started tearing up at the end. You're criminally underrated
The more I've hiked in the woods, the more I've realized how important perspective is. Everything we know, whether it's a star, an animal or a plant, everything dies. Death Is a universal behavior we see through out every aspect of Nature. Why would all things die if it was a meaningless wasteful process? That's not how Nature functions. Maybe death, isn't a meaningless process? Maybe it's a aspect of a natural cycle that we just can't see from our current perspective? A part of me likes to imagine that the cosmos finds unique ways to convert energy. When all things were born, that energy had to come from somewhere..? I think what I'm trying to convey is that there is something freeing once you stop "Needing, demanding, requiring answers" I just happened to stumble upon this sorta peace of mind just from observing Nature and how it functions. The same way an ecosystem takes care of a fallen tree on a forest floor, or a dying star that's feeding the birth of new stars and planets. We are all tied into this unique system. Perceiving my life through the eyes of nature has a way of providing me peace. The fact that death is something all things experience, gives me peace because if you look at the ways natural systems function, something wouldn't be universally required across the board if the whole thing is a meaningless function... That perspective at least gives me some sort of sense of comfort about a otherwise unknown aspect of this circle of Life..
AHHHHH ITS HERE
Playing on the idea of the library of babel, everything that has/will ever exist is possible before it was even created, provided the numbers were to fall into place under astronomically rare and specific circumstances. In other words, the source code for your long-deleted first Minecraft would you ever made over 10 years ago still exists out there (sort of)
There's something oddly addicting about watching videos that inflict some degree of existential crisis
I was playing minecraft when i clicked on this and it was great. Also i know its 30 mins longs but i still feel like its not long enough. THESE ARE SO GOOD 😭
Only 1k vids in three hours?? Edit: This is... Amazing. I love this so much. "You can only die because you were lucky enough to live."
acepting concepts like fate breed complacensy, and any comfort that acceptence may give is at the cost of any hope to avoid that fate... struggle, even if all around say its in vain, struggle is in the nature of all life, to fight against the encroshing darkness of oblivion, there is nothting to lose and all to gain from the attempt.
